I used to have a mail server with Spamassassin and it was great at blocking spam.  Hardly any ever made it to my inbox.  I recently reinstalled Ubuntu and decided to give iRedMail a chance.  The spam scores that are coming in have very low scores (usually between 0 and 1.5).  I modified my config to add the X-Spam tag to everything over -999.  And I lowered my mark as SPAM threshold to 1.0.

Can someone help me understand why SPAM is getting scored so low?

Here's an example from one SPAM email.  They're all fairly similar in overall score.

X-Virus-Scanned: Debian amavisd-new at <FQDN of mail server>
X-Spam-Flag: NO
X-Spam-Score: 0.283
X-Spam-Level:
X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.283 tagged_above=-9999 required=1

Hi Team,

I am in the process of setting Iredmail on a site that has a poor internet connection so they are using a satellite connection. There is windows 2016 and I have intergrated it with Irdemail. The issue is due to connection going down every so often,  I wanted if there is a way to have 2 Iredmail running in an active active cluster where if the primary one goes down due to internet connection mail will be delivered to the second one and as soo as the 1st one comes back up all the emails will sync.
On a normal day email so be sync on both servers.

As this is not live yet, I can even remove intergration with active directory if needed.

The second mail server will be at a different site. There would be a site to site vpn so that could be used to sync possibly.

Please advise.

Cheers,

Rajbps

Hi,
I have aproblem with mails which are ment to be filtered and relayd to an exchange server for some domain
I use IredMail-Pro and for that domain I have relaying defined:

Relay received email to: smtp:[A.B.C.D]:25 and Relay without verifying local recipients checked out.

When I get a mail qualified as spam i can see in logs:

Nov 26 04:30:39 mail srv amavis[12440]: (12440-16) Passed SPAM {RelayedTaggedInbound,Quarantined}, [198.52.149.85]:39230 [198.52.149.85] <bathroom_redesign@costing.eniuz.stream> -> <someuser@filtering-domain.com>, quarantine: tHJZYwZCaWwj, Queue-ID: 30431B0579, Message-ID: <26155537307616-c72cc8dca728905cd69de6a68f5365f4@costing.eniuz.stream>, mail_id: tHJZYwZCaWwj, Hits: 14.081, size: 3630, queued_as: 18DC84D3066, 1816 ms, Tests: [HTML_FONT_LOW_CONTRAST=0.001,HTML_IMAGE_ONLY_32=0.001,HTML_MESSAGE=0.001,MIME_HTML_ONLY=1.105,PYZOR_CHECK=1.985,RCVD_IN_SBL_CSS=3.558,RDNS_NONE=1.274,SPF_HELO_PASS=-0.001,SPF_PASS=-0.001,T_REMOTE_IMAGE=0.01,URIBL_ABUSE_SURBL=1.948,URIBL_BLACK=1.7,URIBL_DBL_SPAM=2.5]

The users reports he gets this email and I can also see it in quarantine.  How can I force servert not to relay it to user?

I have all settings from https://docs.iredmail.org/quarantining.html configured properly

Allowing one of my users to send mails without spam checking

Hi,

I want to allow one of my users to forward scam mails to rescam.org, but the spamfilter rejects these. I tried reading the documentation:

https://docs.iredmail.org/manage.iredap … blacklists

The documentation does not make completely clear to me on how to do the outbound whitelisting.  Does this command have the desired effect?

python wblist_admin.py --outbound --add --whitelist user@mydomain

I want my local user "user@mydomain" to be able to send mails without spam checking.

Regards,
Sven

Hello,

This is my first installation of iRedMail. I have two domain configured:
- qe.gs -- main domain
- example.com -- one of my client's domain

I created a mailbox monitoring@qe.gs via web iRedAdmin. The purpose of this mailbox is to send monitoring messages from external servers connecting via SMTP. At this point I have three problems:

- Right now the From header looks like this: "From: Cron Daemon <root@qe.gs>" I need to override it so it looks like "From: Anything <monitoring@qe.gs>".

- First "Received: " field looks like this: "Received: from localhost (unknown [80.30.29.216]) by mail.qe.gs (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id AC73340F78 for <xand@xand.es>; Mon, 27 Nov 2017 13:57:03 +0000 (UTC)". I would like to remove this header completely since I don't want to reveal the original IP address, besides I guess it's not necessary at all.

- When a message is sent this way (via SMTP) DKIM signature fails.

On the other hand web interface is working like a charm. Is it possible to correct this points (and how)? Also I attach full message (with headers).

Thanks in advance.

Found the issue:

Fatal: Error in configuration file /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf line 48: ssl_key: Can't open file /etc/ssl/private/iRedMail.key: Permission denied

Re: Cannot Login to roundcube. Connection to storage server failed.

I tried changing ownership to dovecot, vmail and nobody.
I changed permissions to 0777.
I tried adding dovecot, vmail and postfix to ssl-cert group.
Still same error so I just disabled SSL and allowed plaintext in dovecot.conf
Perhaps ired mail should remove ubuntu from it's supported OS list?

Hello,

I am trying to generate a password with php

After two days of intense search on the generation of password with Dovecote, I have this code :

$password = 'test';
$salt = substr(str_replace('+','.',base64_encode(md5(mt_rand(), true))),0,8);
$hash = hash('sha512', $salt.$password, true).$salt;
$hashedPassword = "{SSHA512}" . base64_encode($hash);

echo $hashedPassword;

I copy / paste the hash into the database and can not connect. What is missing to get to generate a password in SSHA512?

La génération de mot de passe ne fonctionne pas non plus avec cette commande : doveadm pw -s SHA512-CRYPT....

Thanks for help.

You do not need to sync your MySQL backup files. This is assuming of course that you are okay configuring everything from scratch. This means readding users/ domains to iRedAdmin, ect. For a small server this is easier than a full migration again which is why recommended.

For the DKIM keys remember to configure the amavis config file on the new server after rsync'ing the old DKIM keys.

This should work very well:

$password = 'test';
$salt = random_str(8);
$hashed_password = hash('sha512', $password . $salt, true);
$password_to_db = '{SSHA512}' . base64_encode($hashed_password . $salt);

Sorry for the delay!  I just checked... the PREFORK setting was 5.  I've put that up to 50 to see if it helps.

That said, I'm pretty sure we were seeing errors even with only one client?  But I'll watch and see.

If we still get errors, is there a better log file I should send you?

Thanks!
