Hello,

I've just taken over a colleague's job.
I have to finish the configuration of an IredMail working with Active Directory.
I followed the Integration AD tutorial on the iredmail site.

and when I run the command :
# ldapsearch -x -h ad.example.com -D 'vmail' -W -b 'cn=users,dc=example,dc=com'

I then enter the password for my 'Vmail' account, but I get the following error:
ldap_sasl_bind(SIMPLE): can't contact LDAP server (-1)

I'd like to point out that I can ping my AD with the iRedMail server.

can you help me? I don't know much about LDAP so I'm coming to you.

Thanks

The mail accounts got breached, iredmail refuses sending of unauth mails, else it would be an open relay.

I think it is not from real authenticated users, real authenticated users should see the info sasl_method=LOGIN, sasl_username=ginawang@mydomain.com in the log。But I can't find。

After iredmail server migration all mails are re-downloading in outlook and Thunderbird. Is there any way to disable re-downloading the emails which are already downloaded from previous server.

Hi iRed team,

I am running this iRedmail server for the last few years, since 2018. It is running well without any issue so far. This is a home setup with 5 email accounts.

Now I want to migrate this to newer version but based on Docker for easy version upgrade later on and ease of installation. I want to use Ubuntu 22.04 as the hosting server.

Can I please know whether there is a document describing the migration steps?

I am comfortable with docker and looked at here https://github.com/iredmail/dockerized and https://hub.docker.com/r/iredmail/mariadb. I understand this is a BETA EDITION but it works well

I would like to know what are the folders to copy for email migration to new server.

I see my email stores are in folder ":/var/vmail/vmail1/<domain>" and I would like to know whether I should copy only this folder for emails to migrate to new server.

Should I map like this after copying the email to "/var/vmail/vmail1"?
"iredmail_mailboxes:/var/vmail/vmail1"

Any other details on docker based installs will be great to know.

Awaiting your reply.

Mathew

Can you please check if you have set custom spam scores in iRedAdmin-PRO in System -> Global Spam Policy -> "Mark mail as spam when score is >=" and "Block or quarantine marked spam when score is >=". Empty these fields and test again.
X-Spam-Status: Yes, score=0.43 tag=0 tag2=0 kill=0 <----- tag, tag2 and kill should not be 0, but like default ---->tag=2, tag2=6.2, kill=6.9

Hey,

I'm planning to move from Debian 11 to Debian 12. Mostly because Debian 11 still uses php 7.4 and also because clamav is still running on 0.103.10.

I tried to upgrade php from 7.4 to 8.x manually and it fails because the web interface is not loading anymore. I also tried to upgrade clamav manually but it always fails while installing.

What is the best way to upgrade my system to Debian 12 and do I need to reconfigure things in my iRedMail install?

I'm pretty sure I have a SPF TXT record in my DNS zone for 'mydomain.com'。 Due to privacy, 'mydomain.com' is not my real domain name, you should know that。

Well, If you have SPF record, iRedAPD plugins 'greylisting','reject_sender_login_mismatch' should works for you.

hostname: compute
hosts: 127.0.0.1      mail.example.com mail localhost

it keeps setting the domain to mail.example.com so i need a different domain when i need it to be example.com and the different one to mail.example.com

and this hostname and hosts wont work:

hostname: example
hosts: 127.0.0.1      example.com localhost

My honest opinion is that iRedMail docker image is more hard to customize, not updated and thus not recommended for production. On top of that there is already a new docker image in development, which is in alpha
https://github.com/iredmail/dockerized/issues/137

My suggestion is to use the downloadable installer or if you want it easy - go for paid iRedMail easy platform for deployment.
