Cannot know which log content you posted before is related to your NEW forum topic. and it's impossible for me to check all your posts before answer a new topic. So, please just attach related log/config file in single one topic, it will help me to understand the situation and you will get quicker reply.

Unfortunately, I cannot understand what the problem is with pasted log, no obvious and possible error message at all.
I suggest you post to Postfix mailing list to ask for help.

It's clearly mentioned in iRedMail installation guide:

WARNING: iRedMail is designed to be deployed on a FRESH server system, which means your server does NOT have mail related components installed, e.g. MySQL, OpenLDAP, Postfix, Dovecot, Amavisd, etc. iRedMail will install and configure them for you automatically. Otherwise it may override your existing files/configurations althought it will backup files before modifing, and it may be not working as expected.

Hi! Thanks I got it working on my Thunderbird. It automatically configured port 143 STARTTLS and outgoing port 587 STARTTLS.

Question is that we have an email server here (the one we are planning on replacing with iRedMail) using ports 993 SSL/TLS and 500 SSL/TLS. Is is recommended that I mimic the current setup? Which is more secure.

Update comment in this plugin file, should be clearer now:

# How to use this plugin:
#
# *) You must remove "sender_login_mismatch" restriction rule in Postfix
# setting "smtpd_sender_restrictions" (/etc/postfix/main.cf). this plugin
# will do the same restriction for you.
#
# *) Enable this plugin in iRedAPD config file /opt/iredapd/settings.py:
#
# plugins = ['reject_sender_login_mismatch', ...]
#
# *) List senders who are allowed to send email as different users in iRedAPD
# config file (/opt/iredapd/settings.py), in parameter
# ALLOWED_LOGIN_MISMATCH_SENDERS. For example:
#
# ALLOWED_LOGIN_MISMATCH_SENDERS = ['user1@here.com', 'user2@here.com']
#

Oh, didn't realize this issue, sorry, my bad. You can do some research with Google.

Once you populated initial setting, do you frequently change the IP address?

What is port 500 used for?

TLS and SSL are almost the same.

Never mind the port 500 the pervious sysad must have changed the port of the email server.

I was reading some documents that thunderbird using STARTTLS is less secure than SSL/TLS. So I want to know if it is possible to implement using SSL/TLS in iRedMail postfix setup.

Okay, I can now send using my iRedMail server to Yahoo and Google. The problem is I can not receive emails from other email servers. I really want the feature of greylisting but it seems too strict and I might encounter receiving problems

Can iRedMail whitelist domains? because it will difficult to whitelist per IP.

To add, when I disabled the greylisting in cluebringer, I was able to receive the emails. Though, is there a recommended setup so that I can blacklist domains (spam protection).

All mail return to sender. We have already changed IP address but again our IP has blocked from yahoo and gmail.

Just wait for some minutes (maybe up to 30 minutes), and emails will be delivered to your mailbox.

I suggest you (a mail admin) try to understand what greylisting is and how it helps fight spam:

Re: SMTP Auth 4.7.1 Recipient Address rejected, Greylisting

The problem is not greylisting, the problem is you didn't enable SMTP authentication in your MUA.
Cluebringer (the component provides greylisting) will bypass emails sent by smtp authenticated users.

Re: iRedMail not accessible via browser after Ubuntu/Apache upgrade

You should check Apache log file to see why it cannot start, or whether it logs any warning/error message.

If you upgrade Ubuntu from 12.04 to 14.04, then Apache was upgraded from 2.2 to 2.4, Apache module 'mod_auth_mysql' is broken, it doesn't work with Apache-2.4.

You should disable Apache module 'auth_mysql' first, then comment out all 'Auth_MySQL' lines in Apache config file:

# a2dismod auth_mysql

And enable config files for iRedAdmin and Roundcube webmail, then restart Apache service:

# a2enconf iredadmin
# a2enconf roundcubemail
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

Re: SMTP Auth 4.7.1 Recipient Address rejected, Greylisting

That's strange. SMTP seems to be configured like it should: password, Port 587, STARTTLS.

How should it be possible to send succefully an e-mail, which I could after second attempt? Maybe you are wright and thunderbird's first attempt to send an e-mail was completely wrong (without SMTP auth). I didn't change anything in thunderbird and this happend yesterday as well with another test account (only the first attempt to send).

Cluebringer (the component provides greylisting) will bypass emails sent by smtp authenticated users.

Where can I cross check that? Where do I need to set log level to see SMTP Auth?

Thanks for your help

It looks like cluebringer does NOT bypass smtp athenticated users. Log level 4 for cluebringer didn't help either to narrow down the problem.

I understand these are mails for the LOCAL user "sogo", not in LDAP, and the relay isn't dovecot.
How can I forward these mails to a LDAP user?

Right, I think it was a bad idea disabling the greylisting. I'll enable it back. Though, I dont want our users to have delay receiving messages from our "known" domain like those hosted in google, yahoo etc. Is there a way to whitelist those domains then greylisting will be bypassed.

Thanks Zhang for your continued support. Really appreciate it.
