Can we just use the web gui of cluebringer?

ZhangHuangbin wrote:

You can add record in SQL table "cluebringer.greylisting_whitelist" to whitelist certain domains. But it's not recommended to whitelist whole big ISPs, because spammers use big ISPs to send spams. it should be fine to whitelist certain sender emails.

Hi Zhang,

You may now close this case. We can go using STARTTLS since it is still using encryption.

Thanks a lot for you continuous support.

Hi Zhang,

I know that when I use iredadmin to create users, the user's are contained under the "Users" OU in LDAP. Would it be possible to add another OU under Users like for example the department then I can move the users to their respective department? just to make the ldap tree organized.

You can disable SSLv3 in Postfix/Dovecot with below settings.

Disable SSLv3 in Postfix:

# Opportunistic TLS
smtpd_tls_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3
smtp_tls_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3
lmtp_tls_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3

# Mandatory TLS
smtpd_tls_mandatory_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3
smtp_tls_mandatory_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3
lmtp_tls_mandatory_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3

Disable SSLv3 in Dovecot:

ssl_protocols = !SSLv2 !SSLv3

The one i know is 'user@[192.168.x.x]', but it will sent email to system account on IP 192.168.x.x (which has SMTP service running).

iRedMail configures Amavisd to bypass detected spam/banned emails, if you want to quarantine them into SQL database, please check our tutorial here:
http://www.iredmail.org/docs/quarantining.html

If you just need to DISCARD them, please just update '$final_[XXX]_destiny' variables.

Virus will be DISCARD directly without quarantining by default.

Peter wrote:

- why did postmaster get all those message from iredmail?

If you check Amavisd config file, if will find many alerts will be sent to 'root@[myhostname]', it's root user.
And, we have some alias entries in /etc/postfix/aliases, several system accounts are aliased to 'postmaster@[xxx]' (the admin account created during iRedMail installation). So all emails sent to these system accounts are delivered to 'postmaster@xxx', that's why.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for your clarification that helps a lot.

This default behaviour from iRedMail isn't the best in my opinion. Is quarantining enabled by default in paid version of iRedMail?

However right now recipients receive emails with dangerous attachements. The emails go directly to the inbox! And they are not even marked in the subject.

I suggest to change this default behaviour to get more happy customers;-)

How about this:

1) append some text to the subject. A user must see instantly there is something wrong with this email.
2) move those emails to junk directory

Can this be done with amavisd and sieve?

Re: Spam behaviour is odd

I did succeed half of it:

1) amavis cannot manipulate email subject, only exception is spam which is processed by spamassassin
2) you can write a global sieve which moves marked spam and banned attachements to junk folder

vi /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf

sieve_before = /var/vmail/sieve/dovecot.sieve.global

vi /var/vmail/sieve/dovecot.sieve.global

require ["fileinto"];

# rule:[Move Spam to Junk Folder]
if header :is "X-Spam-Flag" "YES"
{
    fileinto "Junk";
    stop;
}

if header :is "X-Amavis-Alert" "BANNED"
{
    fileinto "Junk";
    stop;
}

If iredmail decides to pass junk by default then please move them to junk folder. And if somebody knows a hack about 1) I would be happy if you let me know.

Thanks

I guess I;'ve missed something but been looking at it for so long, I cannot work out what it is. I have enabled the mods, restarted apache and then I also tried rebooting the whole server to no avail.

Thank you for any help

apache2.conf

# This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the
# configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
# See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/ for detailed information about
# the directives and /usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian about Debian specific
# hints.
#
#
# Summary of how the Apache 2 configuration works in Debian:
# The Apache 2 web server configuration in Debian is quite different to
# upstream's suggested way to configure the web server. This is because Debian's
# default Apache2 installation attempts to make adding and removing modules,
# virtual hosts, and extra configuration directives as flexible as possible, in
# order to make automating the changes and administering the server as easy as
# possible.

# It is split into several files forming the configuration hierarchy outlined
# below, all located in the /etc/apache2/ directory:
#
#    /etc/apache2/
#    |-- apache2.conf
#    |    `--  ports.conf
#    |-- mods-enabled
#    |    |-- *.load
#    |    `-- *.conf
#    |-- conf-enabled
#    |    `-- *.conf
#     `-- sites-enabled
#         `-- *.conf
#
#
# * apache2.conf is the main configuration file (this file). It puts the pieces
# together by including all remaining configuration files when starting up the
#   web server.
#
# * ports.conf is always included from the main configuration file. It is
# supposed to determine listening ports for incoming connections which can be
#   customized anytime.
#
# * Configuration files in the mods-enabled/, conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/
# directories contain particular configuration snippets which manage modules,
# global configuration fragments, or virtual host configurations,
#   respectively.
#
# They are activated by symlinking available configuration files from their
# respective *-available/ counterparts. These should be managed by using our
#   helpers a2enmod/a2dismod, a2ensite/a2dissite and a2enconf/a2disconf. See
# their respective man pages for detailed information.
#
# * The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of environment variables, in
# the default configuration, apache2 needs to be started/stopped with
#   /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl. Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not
# work with the default configuration.

Can someone help me/tell me how to fix this problem?

Thanks for ALL answers!
