Re: allow host or email to send mail via iRedMail

It's better to put all domains in ONE ssl cert.

No idea. Port 10026 is served by Amavisd, there's no option to enable SSL.

A BAD and temporary solution is, disable spam/virus scanning for outgoing emails by commenting out "  -o content_filter=...:10026" line in /etc/postfix/master.cf, for "submission" transport.

How about setup a backupmx with good internet connection? this will be the easily solution.

If primary server goes down, other servers will connect to backup mx, backupmx holds the emails in queue, and relay to primary mx when it's online.

No active-active setup, it's complex than a backupmx.

I Agree. Is it possible to view the content of the emails on the backup mx by any chance?

Yes, I thank for the hint, this option, for support of the current operability of the server I found half an hour ago and applied. But this decision is more similar to a temporal crutch. I think that developers, probably shall have an end-to-end solution of a problem.

How would you turn off spam/virus checking for just one domain with iredmail?

Which setting did you update?

You should update Amavisd config file, parameter:

$sa_tag2_level_deflt =

Restarting Amavisd service is requried after change.

P.S. It's easier to manage global / per-domain / per-user spam policy with iRedAdmin-Pro, screenshot attached.

Hello,

Yes, that is the one I configured (in Amavis).  I also restarted the service.

I have looked into changing the scoring as mentioned above but i don't see how to do that.  I read the parameters guide for the local.cf file, but it doesn't tell you how to change scores.  It's weird that I have so much SPAM now.  Previously when using spam assassin I had very little getting through.

I would love to use iRedAdmin-Pro, but don't want to pay for it if I can't get the free version working properly first.

I still don't understand why so much SPAM is being scored so low (very similar to legit email.)  If there is a way to differentiate the two more, that would really help.

Thanks
Steven

Hello,

To the adjust the default settings of spamassassin add the below section to the bottom of your local.cf file, you will need to find the settings that are right for your server. This is an example from mine, I had to increase the default settings of these two spamassassin tests

# Spamassassin Score increases
score RDNS_NONE 2.5
score URIBL_ABUSE_SURBL 2.5

Thanks, but unfortunately that didn't really make a dent.  At certain times a day I have spam coming in every few seconds it seems.  I don't know why this is occurring but it started when I installed iRedPro.  Here's another example of the very low score.  Please tell me what I can do to fix this!

X-Spam-Status: No, score=-0.155 tagged_above=-9999 required=0
    tests=[DKIM_SIGNED=0.1, DKIM_VALID=-0.1, DKIM_VALID_AU=-0.1,
    HTML_MESSAGE=0.001, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE=-0.0001,
    RCVD_IN_MSPIKE_H2=-0.055, SPF_PASS=-0.001]

OK, I tried following tutorial but I get the same error message.  there is no 'goto' column.

Help?

whitelisting not working

==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.7
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Debian 8
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): MySQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx):Apache
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? No
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

I've followed a few different instructions for whitelisting and although the accounts I want to whitelist are showing up when I query wblist_admin.py these emails are still not coming through.  I've whitelisted both the email address and the IP address but still being rejected.

Thank you for your answer!

ZhangHuangbin wrote:

If you're talking about email generated by cron job, you should set variable "MAILFROM = xxx" in your cron (edit with command "crontab -e -u <user>").

I guess my version of cron is not accepting this variable. I managed to get this issue fixed. However, somehow cron (located on a completely different machine) managed to deliver messages with From field completely wrong and forbidden (user and domain are changed and this is forbidden by postfix in my configuration).

setup a Postfix header_checks rule

Thanks, I will take a look into it.

ZhangHuangbin wrote:

ou mean no DKIM signature? Does the email generated by cron job?

No, I mean the From: header was completely broken in case of cron, that's why the signature was a failure also. However this is already fixed see p1.

No - except accessing the mail message from shell command line.

Emails on backupmx is hold by Postfix in queue, not yet delivered to user mailbox, so end user cannot access it with webmail or other imap client.

Our tutorial doesn't use "goto" column at all, why did you get the error? What SQL command did you run?

*) Do you have DNSBL service enabled in Postfix?
*) Do you have greylisting service enabled?

The last sample mail header does look like legit email, it has valid SPF/DKIM DNS records, also DKIM is valid, and it didn't trigger other SpamAssassin rules, so it's a low score.
