Hi,

I have a Jail with iredmail running. Duroing the installation I used the Jail -nonpublic IPv4 address. The Jail itself is connected to the internet via IPv6. So far so good. The MXToolBox test was successful sofar. But I have an issue with SOGo now. I'm able to login, but I get the message: "No mailbox selected". The sogo.log shows:

In dovecot.conf I changed the "listen" parameter to:

listen = [::]

and in postfix/main.cf I changed the protocol to ipv6. The list of used ports -> sockstat.txt

Would be nice if someone can assist here.

Server just stopped working after password change

Hi, My email server has just stopped functioning. I was updating a user password via the iredadmin web portal now no users can access their mail accounts - cannot connect to mail server. I can access the server via ssh terminal but am not sure what to check.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Everyone. First i wanna thank your for this well polished and easy to maintain mail server application.
i did some tests with iredmail in the past and i am pretty statisfied so far and wanna use and integrate it in my ipa domain.
some questions first:

should i install it in an lxc enviroment or better in kvm? it runs both pretty well... but maybee there are some quirks i should avoid in either of one?!

next thing is: where should i deploy it?
my my ipa domain controllers are in a firewalled subnet behind a firewalled dmz.

1. i could deploy iredmail in the dmz and use probably another mail-gateway on a vps in the www
or
2. i deploy iredmail in my secure subnet behind the dmz and deploy an mailgateway in the dmz to communicate with it through the outside...

i wanna be able to manage my mail users through freeipa so i need to deploy an ipa replica at the dmz if i go with 1 i assume or are there other ways?

It happens when I am configuring outlook for the first time.

When outlook is trying to send test mail to id it reverts in the log as earlier I have shown.

Hello, have created a server on AWS and Roundcube works fine, as does IRedAdmin.

Unless I'm mistaken, nmap shows that the necessary ports are open and listening :
PORT      STATE SERVICE
22/tcp    open  ssh
25/tcp    open  smtp
80/tcp    open  http
110/tcp   open  pop3
143/tcp   open  imap
443/tcp   open  https
587/tcp   open  submission
993/tcp   open  imaps
995/tcp   open  pop3s
3306/tcp  open  mysql

When I try to configure either Thunderbird or Outlook, I got the following error.
my server is mail.domain1.net
the user and domain are on domain2.net

My configuration is :
imap.domain1.net    143   STARTTLS   normal password
smtp.domain1.net    587   STARTTLS  normal password

Login is complete mail address.

I've tried with imap@domain1.net, imap@domain2.net, same with smtp. Again I can connect this user, on this domain, with Roundcube, but no success with Tbird nor Outlook.

tail -f mail.log  does not give anything related to the errors
cat /etc/hosts.deny | grep myip is clear
grep -r "myip".  while being in /var/log only shows successful access to RoundCube and IRedAdmin.

I'm admittedly a bit lost. If anyone can give me pointers, it will be much apppreciated.

What a pity that SSL is stopping me from investigating iredmail further on for now.
I think it is a nice piece of software but if a new install gives me that much problems then it is not good to use for many.....

Emails being sent via "sasl_method=PLAIN"

Hi,

Recently one user was getting a great deal of "undelivered mail returned to sender" and "banned content" messages.

The log showed this:
date time hostname postfix/submission/smtpd[REDACTED]: REDACTED: client=unknown[IP REDACTED], sasl_method=PLAIN, asl_username=USER REDACTED

Was this likely to be a login with the users password or does "sasl_method=PLAIN" mean these emails were likely sent with some kind of exploit?

It's more like that this account's password was cracked and the account is used to send spams.
You need to reset its password in this case.

Is your IP blocked in Fail2ban service? You can check it with command:

iptables -L -n

I did a quick test with iRedMail-0.9.7 on CentOS 7 again, didn't get such ssl error, and no reports from others either.

Could you download iRedMail-0.9.7 and try again? Sorry about this trouble.

If the Linux/BSD OS works fine with LXC/KVM, then iRedMail is fine.

It's totally up to you.

P.S. We didn't test iRedMail with FreeIPA before, are you sure it works fine with it?

Try to copy file /opt/iredapd/rc_scripts/iredapd.service to /etc/systemd/system/multi*/, then enable iredapd service again.
